“Oh my God, Josh, Calvin!” Missy went after the two men as they quickened their pace.
Leah followed behind and tried to catch up. Before Josh made it to the front door, Missy grabbed the bottom of his shirt. She pulled him so hard he almost fell back.
“What the hell is going on here?” she asked as she held on to his shirt.
“Let me go!” He swung around and almost hit her in the face. She jumped back and looked at him and Calvin standing beside each other. She could feel the hairs on the back of her neck stand at attention.
Josh jerked his shirt out of her hand and stood boldly in front of her. Calvin walked up to him and put his arm around his waist. The thoughts running through Missy’s mind made her sick to her stomach. She needed an explanation, and she needed one fast.
“I said what the hell is going on, Josh?”
He looked down shamefully and avoided eye contact, but Calvin had a look of arrogance in his eyes.
“Look at me and answer me!” She grabbed is chin and pushed his face up so their eyes could meet. She felt the tears rolling down her face and her chest burn with anger. She looked at Calvin and felt the bile coming up her throat. She didn’t want to believe the obvious, but it was staring her in the face. Josh reached up and took her hand. She was emotionally confused and didn’t have the strength to fight back.
“It’s okay, Missy,” Leah said. She put her hand on Missy’s back for comfort and support.
Josh cleared his throat and took Calvin’s hand in his. Calvin smiled, proudly taking the place beside his man. Before Josh could get a word out, Missy threw up on the floor, barely missing his shoes. Calvin released Josh’s hand and pushed her backwards.
“You nasty bitch, just leave us alone,” he said. “I mean just look at you. He doesn’t want you and I don’t either!”
The look in Calvin’s eyes and the words that were coming out of his mouth caught Leah off guard. He was pulling at Josh trying to get him to leave. Josh was getting fed up with the whole scene and pushed him back.
“Shut up, man,” Josh said.  “Just leave me alone. I can handle this.”
“Well if you don’t, I will.”
“What is that supposed to mean?”
“It means you better tell her everything because I’m tired of sneaking around. Your relationship is over anyway, so what’s the big deal?”
Josh grew angry, but almost instantly, the anger washed from his facial features, replaced with a need to resolve everything.
He turned back to Missy and saw the fear and hurt in her eyes. He did love her but couldn’t live a lie any longer. Even though they already agreed to get a divorce, he knew he owed her the truth.
Missy sat in a chair by the wall. She was getting weaker and sicker by the minute, and her legs were threatening to give out.
Josh raced to the bathroom, and with him gone for a few minutes, Calvin knew it was the perfect time to say what he wanted. He walked over to Missy and stood in front of her.
“I knew you were a trifling, hoe,” he spat.  “I just needed to prove it to Josh so he would leave you. That’s why I came on to you and made you think I wanted to be with you. You think Josh walking in on us was a coincidence? No, honey, I planned that out, he just didn’t know it. And he wasn’t mad at you for sleeping with me. He was mad at me for sleeping with you. Now I have my man, and there is nothing you can do about.”
As his words traveled through her ears, Missy felt like someone on trial who just received the death penalty. She was so angry she wanted to jump up and kill him, but her strength wouldn’t allow it.
Josh returned from the bathroom with a roll of paper towels.  He walked over to Missy and took the seat beside her. His voice was barely above a whisper with the loud music in the background.
“I know you’re upset, and there is a lot we need to talk about,” Josh said.
Missy couldn’t wait for him to finish what he had to say.
“Is it true?” she asked as her voice trembled. She looked at Calvin then back at Josh.
